"Advanced Career Training, North Geelong, is a registered training organisation that offers courses in my career interest in Retail and Customer Service. Linda and Sharon were the management team I meet when I initially visited for my course application interview, I found them to be very helpful and friendly as they progressed my application through the necessary qualifying process’s and helping me get myself organised for my Retail Certificate 111 studies in 2009.

During my studies I was a, but novice, retail resource for a new start up small business in the Hair and Beauty salon industry, situated in Belmont, Geelong. From the first day of this business opening I was able to assist to develop their basic business needs in OHS, Customer Service Standards and most importantly their salon Marketing Profiles studies. The owners were appreciative as they were on a strict budget and my efforts came cost free to them.

Being an Aquarius star sign the subject I enjoyed the most was the training unit “Visual Merchandising” creating the salons image including the web site to be presented to the salon’s potential customers was total fun, I did get to meet some small business owners in Geelong in my studies to uncover the right store image for this salon, this was a surprise bonus for me.

Additionally, my daughter who has started up a small business as the sole importer and distributor of a Fijian skin and beauty treatment products plans to use my recently acquired Customer Service skills to help launch her new business and at no cost to her.

In my first class, I meet Sally Scouller, my trainer and assessor, which was one the best things that happened to me in the last two years of my Retail certificate 11 and 111 studies.

She is one of those people who makes learning fun and interesting. She has deep a understanding of the Retail industry and I consider her a expert in Retail operations. Sally is very professional in her presentation and work activities and she cares deeply about her students being successful. Sally has become a colleague I trust and I recommend her to any one considering Retail/Customer Service studies.
